Our primary pupils are welcome to access Breakfast Club which runs each morning, costing only 50 pence. Pupils must arrive promptly at 8.00am. Any parent wishing their child to use the Breakfast Club must fill in a registration form, no pupil can be accepted without this form which is available to download here.
All pupils are offered a piece of fruit every morning, this is free of charge to EYFS, Year 1 and . After February half term we will no longer be providing a fruit snack for Key Stage 2, parents have the option to send their children into school with a snack to be eaten during morning break.
Our lunchtime meals are now cooked onsite.
Our Head of Kitchen Ms Hall and the kitchen team prepare and serve a hot, well balanced and nutritious meal to our pupils in accordance with the School Food Trust Regulations.
The menus are Halal, with our dishes including a hot meat or vegetarian option each day. And our produce is sourced from local suppliers from the Derbyshire/ Nottingham areas.
We encourage our children to eat a healthy diet, serving fresh vegetables, fresh fruit or salad with each and every meal. Here at the school Al-Madinah School staff dine with the pupils to further promote good behaviour and dining social skills. The cost of a school meal is £2.00 per day for Years 3 and above.
All children in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 has the option to have a school dinner, there is no cost to parents for this as it is part of the Universal Infant Free School Meals grant.
IMPORTANT – From September 2016 our school will be cash free, therefore we will no longer accept cash payments for school dinners, along with money for trips/bus admin charge and other activities.
If you have not already done so and activated your Parent Pay account please contact the school as soon as possible to request your activation details.
Please feel free to look at our current menus, but in the near future we plan to introduce Special Theme days to coincide with the pupils study!
Pupils are of course welcome to bring a healthy packed lunch.
